Temple Grandin is an animal expert and advocate for the autistic community. She was born on August 29, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts. When Grandin a was 2 years old, she was diagnosed with autism. Autism is a mental condition that affects then brain and can make communicating with other people difficult. Grandin wasn't able to speak until the age of 4. Throughout her life, a blind girl and her teacher were two really close friends. Today, Temple Grandin is unmarried and has no children because of her lack of interest.
In 1966, she earned a Bachelors degree, a Masters Degree, and a Doctoral degree in animal science. Grandin was motivated to work in humane livestock handling processes . She studied the behavior of cattle and how they react to ranchers, light, movement, and objects. She designed curved corrals to reduce the stress, panic, and injury in cattles that were being led to then slaughter houses. Temple was able to do all these achievements because of the opportunities she had. Everytime she would see a door, Grandin would think of it as a new opportunity. Another thing that helped her is her invention, "The Squeeze Machine". It's a device that calms down people with autism. Grandin came up with The Squeze Machine after seeing a cattle squeeze chutes that calmed down cattle.

A second big thing is that you can overcome it.
